The biannual magazine of The Honors College at the University of Houston. I completely redesigned the magazine when the University rebranded for a fun, more updated look.
Areté documents the half-year of Honors activities – new programs, spotlights on faculty, student study abroad experiences and competitions – and reflects the culture and academic focus of The Honors College.
As the sole graphic designer, I was responsible for all visual aspects of the magazine. I also worked with the printer throughout the pre-print process.
This project was particularly exciting in light of the University's complete rebranding – I had the opportunity to completely redesign all the materials, both print and digital. Areté, as the biannual magazine of the college, was an opportunity for real growth and expansion. I really enjoyed using the new brand standards in a different and innovative way, and the other designers across the university appreciated my work and brought elements from it into their own work going forward.
